il salotto di Anna

WHAT is
il salotto di Anna?

In Italian salotto means living room (woonkamer in Dutch), a place where members of a family and friends come together for a cup of tea or een bakje koffie. It is a relaxing and cozy environment, where people can be at their ease, chatting and discussing different topics.
Furthermore, in the XVII and XVIII centuries in Europe (France, Italy, Germany, Great Britain…), salons and salotti letterari were places in which intellectuals, women, men, scholars, but also politicians gathered together to debate or simpler to talk about various subjects and matters.

Il salotto di Anna is exactly the combination of these two salotti: a place (live and/or online) where people, in a small group (max 5) or one-to-one, talk in Italian with other no-native-speakers about different topics, learn new things and improve their Italian communication level, in a comfortable, enjoyable and cozy environment.

Every meeting is focused on speaking and listening skills and the topics of the sections are varied, based on the interests of the salotto’s members and their needs.
Furthermore, students work on their writing skills at home, with some exercises on which they will receive feedback: the exercises are miscellaneous and based on their language level.
